A Life Lived

Good Morning,

It's early.  I've just read an article in the New York Times on the recent death of Josef Stalin's daughter.  She was 85, I believe.  This got me thinking about some things, things like the fleeting moments in life that many take for granted, myself included.  Life is a son of a gun, throwing us twists and turns on a daily basis, we get caught up in things, whatever these things may be.  Some people live interesting lives, all relative certainly, but interesting; many live the mundane.  I was fascinated with the life that Ms. Stalin lived, the many places she resided in, her multiple marriages, aliases; all the while forever haunted by the specter of her infamous father.   You might be asking what this has at all to do with fashion...not a damn thing!  Peace out.

Keys to the Season

Gentlemen,

One of the key pieces this season is the Pea Coat.  The magazines are showing them everywhere.  What's nice about them, in my opinion, is that this is a coat that has a lot of versatility.  What does that mean for you?  Simply, you get your money's worth with this one.  You can dress it up or down, layer it, depending on the fit, and true to its heritage the big over sized collars shield you from the winter's chill.

Another word of advice, spend the money on a quality Pea Coat.  I firmly believe in quality over quantity.

Best Wishes, Riad

Colors of the season

Happy Monday,

Well... it's the week of the beginning of the holiday season.  A lot to think about I'm sure for many of you.  Let's talk clothing for a moment, specifically, men's clothing and  the infinite options we men have this time of year, what with the temperatures hovering in that range where its not too cold but just cold enough.

I'm someone who thinks about this "stuff" all the time.  Why, you ask?  It gives me pleasure, big time!  All I'm saying is that if you get into fabrics and textures and patterns and mixing and the sort and you're wearing it well, no one can touch you.  Men, lets embrace the myriad of choices we have and lets make it interesting...more to come.
